About Tara
Tara Coyote is the proud owner of Studio Equilibria which first opened its doors in March, 2006.
I have been teaching Pilates and the Gyrotonic exercise method for seven years now. It has been an honor and an amazing process helping people to learn to live in a healthy and balanced manner within their bodies and to find their own individual expression in movement. Whether it be healing an injury, toning the body, loosening tight muscles or relaxing the mind that you are looking for, I can help create a safe place for you to reach your goals.
As an avid athlete, dancer, hiker, snowboarder and skiier I find the above modalities beneficial to create and maintain a healthy balance within one's body. It is through my deep love of movement that I have learned to nurture my whole being and it is a joy to share this discovery with others.

(a 800 hour certification course) and completed my coursework in 2005. I hold two certifications in Pilates by EHS Pilates Institute and by Balanced Body University. I was trained in the Gyrotonic exercise method at
San Francisco Gyrotonic
with Debra Rose and Nora Heiber in 2005. In 2010, I was trained by Yamuna Zake (of Yamuna Body Rolling) to be a certified Yamuna Body Rolling and Foot Fitness instructor. I was certified in Gyrokinesis in March 2010. As part of my ongoing education, I am continually attending new workshops to learn new methods of rehabilitation to help my clients.
In the last year I have embarked upon the journey of furthering my Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis education. I became a Gyrokinesis pre-trainer in December, 2011 after attending Juliu Horvath's course and am on the path to become a Gyrotonic pre-trainer. With the new addition of two Gyrotonic pieces of specialized equipment, the Jumping Stretching Board and the Archway I am thrilled to have the full repetroire of Gyrotonic equipment.
I have studied and taken work-shops with Juliu Horvath, Ellie Herman, Debra Rose, Tamara Yoneda, Nora Heiber, Eric Franklin, Elizabeth Larkam, Lolita San Miguel, Karen Clippinger, Kathy Corey, Rael Isacowitz, Julian Littleford, Christine Romani-Ruby, Kathy Van Patten, Paul Horvath, Sebastian Plettenberg, Angela Crowley, Yamuna Zake, Madeline Black, Leda Franklin, Liz Koch and Sharon Gallagher.
Using many tools and the modalities of Pilates and the Gyrotonic exercise method, plus extensive rehabilitation knowledge I can create a exercise regimen that works to bring your body into balance again.
As the mother of a nineteen-year-old boy, I understand the needs of parents and am flexible with my schedule. I will work with you to design a program that is in harmony with your lifestyle.

"My life changed when I started working with Tara. It was so subtle, definitely not a drastic thing. Her beginning class just got me thinking, breathing and listening to my body in a different way. It's not about pain and suffering; it's about the joy of engaging core muscles! When I'm riding my bike up a hill, I think about engaging my abs and it's easier! She makes working out in her classes so fun by utilizing the interesting visuals that come with each exercise, i.e. 'squeezing the tangerine', or 'pearl buttons down the back', or even 'barbie heels'! Tara always moves on to something new BEFORE we ever have a chance to be bored or checking the clock. Indeed, sometimes I sneak in a few extra repetitions though I realize more and more how deliberate her tempo and intensity truly is.
